Hilarey Gould (formerly Wojtowicz) is an expert editor, project manager, and content strategist with a passion for data-driven decisions and details.
Hilarey is currently the Editorial Director, Financial Products and Services, at finance website Investopedia, part of the Dotdash Meredith family. Prior to her role at Investopedia, Hilarey worked as the Editorial Director of The Balance, a personal finance website. She was there from 2019 to 2023.
A self-proclaimed career and money enthusiast, Hilarey is passionate about helping others save and invest money, climb the ladder (or jungle gym) in their career, and more. She’s been an editor in the digital media industry for 10+ years, and has experience in digital and social media, content marketing, content strategy, SEO, and more.
Hilarey has two journalism degrees—a master’s from the Missouri School of Journalism and a bachelor’s from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). She is also an adjunct professor in the journalism department at TCNJ.
Hilarey is a member, avid supporter, and former board member of New York Women in Communications (NYWICI). The organization works to support and help women develop in their careers at every stage from college to the C-suite. As a former Vice President of Student Affairs, Hilarey helped plan programs for high school and college students, such as the Student Career Bootcamp, which took place at Twitter in November 2019 and featured more than 30 professionals from across the communications, PR and media industries, including keynote Jessica Pels, Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan magazine.
Outside of work, teaching, and NYWICI, Hilarey enjoys going to concerts, the Jersey shore, and playing soccer.
